Theo Gould

The human-centric work of British photographer Theo Gould explores what it means to be black in Western society. The London-born, Lisbon-based photographer cut his photography teeth in Colombia during the start of the 2010s, where he taught himself how to use a camera as a means to communicate with people whose language he could not speak. This earned him a diploma in photojournalism at the Instituto Henry Agudelo in Medellín, Colombia.

Selected exhibitions include Victoria & Albert Museum, London, 2022, Hangar — Centro de Investigação Artística, Lisbon, 2022, The Spot, Geneva, 2020, Biblioteca Leon de Greiff, Medellin, 2018.
