Lennart Nilsson Testosterone, crystallized, 1971 “Hormones”
Even though Nilsson’s lifelong quest has been to explain difficult scientific subjects, the esthetic value has always been important.
In 1971 Life Magazine published a photo series where Nilsson explores the crystalline form of hormones in his almost lifelong quest to understand and explain what happens in the human body. Here Nilsson used a microscope with polarized light, creating the vibrant colors. These images were also included in the book “Behold man”, published in 1973.
