"My series, Naked, feels like the purest my images have been since the 90s. Albeit much darker. All the hallmarks of my photography are there, there is a certain elegance I look for in the aesthetic of a shot. But there has been no retouching or over-perfecting in post. These images are a fresh realisation of my fascination with the erotic and death. These two themes have fascinated me throughout my career. And, as I get older, they start to become more intertwined in my imagination. They are no longer mutually exclusive to me." - Rankin, Naked, 2017
