Staffan Hallström

Staffan Hallström (1914–1976) is a huge name in Swedish art history. He is recognized as one of the most important painters in Sweden, mostly known for his painting Ingens hundar (Nobody´s dogs), of wich he made noumerous variations during his whole career. In 1971 he showed at Galerie Prisma a painted photo collage, where Ingens hundar were placed in an urban environment. On behalf of Hallström took the photographer Hans André a street picture - the deserted Birger Jarlsgatan After Hallström's comments, the picture was taken again. Hallström himself in turn painted a pack of dogs directly on the photograph. With signs of wonder, tired and lost, the animals wander around the city streets.
