Helena Blomqvist
Snapshots from a fairytale - Swedish photographer Helena Blomqvist creates her own new worlds, into which she invites us. In her studio in Stockholm, Blomqvist first sketches out her ideas on a blank paper before she builds detailed sets and models. Some of these scenes require several months of work before the shutter button is triggered. The result is dreamlike, delirious compositions that draws inspiration from art history, books, films and real events. Her works are represented in collections at the Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Hasselblad Foundation, Gothenburg, etc.
